This is my second volume of royalty-free stereo field recordings taken in and around my hometown in central Vermont, US. I gather these for use in my own music, but also just as kind of a hobby. I love the excuse to really stop and listen to what’s going on in my environment. We can learn so much by listening. Just like building relationships with people, we can build relationships with the places we live by tuning in and hearing what they really have to say.

These recordings were taken with a Zoom H1n, edited and minimally processed to make them immediately usable in whatever context you need. Feel free to use them however you want, outside of repackaging them for sale as a new sample pack. I love to hear what people create with them so feel free to send me a link or tag me on BlueSky @go_outside_music if you wanna share.

This library is “pay what you want” because hearing the sounds of nature is a birthright for everyone. I didn’t create these sounds, I just ‘captured’ them. That said, it did take a lot of work to compile this (and sometimes being eaten alive by bugs lol) so donations are more than welcome!

Speaking of work, a good friend of mine, Ben Dexter Cooley (aka St. Silva @st.silva.music), generously went through all the bird recordings and identified the main voices as well as some background voices so I could accurately label them. So whether you live in an area with these birds or not, you can know their name and appreciate their beautiful song.

The cover photo was taken at one of my favorite local spots where many of these sounds come from. I hope these inspire you to head out into your own favorite spots and take the time to really soak in the landscape of sound that surrounds you.
